UAL Level 3 Diploma & Extended Diploma

Welcome to UAL L3 Photography, located at the Northenden campus. The course is delivered over two years and the final qualification is the equivalent of three A-Levels. In year 1 (Diploma) you will learn a wide range of skills across a number of photographic genres including: documentary photography, portraiture, landscape, darkroom, movement and street photography. In year 2 (Extended Diploma) you will specialise in the areas of photography which you are passionate about to create a portfolio of work which will enable you to apply for university, or transition into the world of work.
Our facilities are second to none, with a double industry standard photography studio, a fully equipped darkroom and a base room which can boast the most up to date iMacs for research and editing. Our experienced and knowledgeable tutors and technicians will guide and advise you though all aspects of photography, constantly encouraging you to experiment and expand your creativity.

After completing this Photography Extended Diploma, you’ll have the skills, experience and qualifications needed to advance onto a university-level course. The ideal next step could be a Foundation Degree in Contemporary Photographic Practices, right here at The Manchester College.
Alternatively, you’ll have the expertise to progress straight into employment in the creative arts industry, with a range of roles to choose from that include studio photographer, photojournalist, events photographer and photographic lab technician.
