L2 ART & DESIGN
(Openshaw Campus)
"It never fails to amaze me how every year the students studying the Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design grow and develop. Many start the course with negative pre conceived expectations based on prior learning. And yet every year their creative skills, enthusiasm and understanding of Art and Design grows and grows. This year has been no exception. The impact of the Corona Virus has forced both staff and students into finding new ways of communicating and being creative. These challenges have led to the students becoming a community that share, support and care for each other. Its been a pleasure to work alongside these talented students."

PEACE PORTRAITS
A series of large charcoal drawings produced by L2 Art & Design students. The drawings are on the whole self portraits, made in direct response to Henry Tonks portraits of soldiers from the First World War who had suffered terrible facial injuries.
The Peace Portraits are going to be exhibited at the Imperial War Museum in London later in the year
